The lot they took at 4014 Donghae-daero sits in the seam between three different versions of this town — the lake to the west, the beach to the east, and the express bus terminal three minutes south. HOMM Marina Sokcho is the inaugural property of Banyan Group's HOMM brand in Korea — "Homm is a feeling, not a place" is the line they're going with, and the building is built to prove it.

The tower, floor by floor

The building is 21 floors and one basement. Knowing which floor holds what makes the first day shorter.

150 rooms, eleven lines

Every line — Deluxe through the Homm Oceanview Suite — sleeps on a Simmons Beautyrest Black mattress and pulls espresso from a Nespresso Zenius capsule machine. The differences are floorplan, view, and a few signature add-ons in the suite lines.

Is the rooftop pool open in winter? Yes. The main pool is held at 40°C from October through April, the jacuzzi runs 41°C year-round, and the cabanas are heated to 28°C. This is the only Sokcho hotel where the rooftop pool is a year-round attraction.

Daepo Port — worth the drive? For sashimi and dockside raw fish, yes. Five minutes by car. It's a different scene than the central Tourist & Fishery Market — more about fishing boats, less about touring.
