Hey Seorak is an English-language tourism guide and AI chatbot for the Seorak region (Sokcho, Yangyang, Goseong, Gangneung) of South Korea. The Service provides:
- Travel guides, blog posts, and restaurant directory content
- AI-powered travel recommendations and itinerary planning via chatbot
- English-language restaurant menus accessible via QR codes
- Map-based location browsing for restaurants and points of interest
- A partner program for local businesses seeking English menu creation
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 14 years old to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.
3. User Conduct
When using the Service, you agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form or chat interface
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems, databases, or other users' data
- Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service in a manner that exceeds reasonable use, except for search engine indexing
- Transmit malicious code, viruses, or any other harmful technology
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users or our team through the chatbot or any contact channel
- Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without permission
4. AI Chatbot Disclaimer
The AI chatbot is powered by Google Gemini and provides recommendations based on curated local knowledge. Please note:
- Not professional advice: Chatbot responses are informational and do not constitute professional travel, medical, legal, or financial advice.
- Accuracy not guaranteed: While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated content may contain errors. Restaurant hours, prices, availability, and other details may change without notice.
- Verify independently: We recommend verifying critical information (operating hours, prices, directions) independently before relying on it.
- No booking or transaction: The chatbot does not process bookings, reservations, or payments.
5. Restaurant and Menu Information
- Menu information, prices, and restaurant details are provided for reference only and may not reflect current offerings.
- We make reasonable efforts to keep information accurate and up-to-date, but we do not guarantee completeness or timeliness.
- English translations of Korean menu items are approximations and may not perfectly capture the original meaning.
- Allergy and dietary information is provided as guidance only. Always confirm with restaurant staff if you have food allergies or dietary restrictions.
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Our Content
All content on Hey Seorak β including text, guides, translations, graphics, logos, page layout, and software β is the property of NomadLab or its content suppliers and is protected by intellectual property laws.
6.2 User Content
By submitting content through the Service (chat messages, partner applications, uploaded images), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use such content for the purpose of operating and improving the Service.
6.3 Limited License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial travel planning purposes. This license does not include the right to reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content.
7. Third-Party Services
The Service integrates with third-party services including:
- Google Maps: Subject to Google Maps Terms of Service
- Google Gemini AI: Subject to Google AI Terms of Service
- Naver Maps: Subject to Naver's terms of service
We are not responsible for the practices or content of third-party services.
8. Partner Program
For businesses participating in the partner program:
- Menu translation and English menu creation are provided free of charge for the basic tier.
- Partners grant us permission to display their business information, menu items, and photos on the Service.
- Partners are responsible for the accuracy of the information they provide.
- Either party may terminate the partnership by providing written notice via email.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
- We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or completely secure.
- We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service.
- Our total liability for any claim related to the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or USD $100, whichever is greater.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Seoul, Republic of Korea.

We may revise these Terms at any time by posting updated Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
