Down a narrow lane off Saemaeul 1-gil, Re:Breathe pairs coffee with an introduction to the neighborhood. The owner chose the tucked-away spot with Portugal's alleyways in mind; the team wants visitors to discover Sokcho beyond its main roads and spend time in the old lanes alongside the people who live there. Start with Pochi Cream Latte, made with potatoes sourced from Gangwon and Sokcho, or the Midnight Blue Cream Latte in the cafe's signature color. Five flavors of roll cake and Sokcho-themed souvenirs give you something to enjoy here and something to take home.

Pro tip: Enter the narrow alley beside Cheogajip Yangnyeom Chicken, opposite Saemaeul Suban. There is no on-site parking; Sokcho Beach No. 3 public parking lot is about a five-minute walk away. Naver lists pets welcome, takeaway, Wi-Fi, reservations, separate restrooms, counter seating, chairs and tables, local-currency payment (card, paper and mobile), and simple mobile payment. The three signature drinks and blueberry smoothie are iced only. Each roll cake is ₩6,500; goods are individually priced. Ask staff about ingredients and allergens.

## Story

### How it started
The owner chose a spot deep inside a narrow Saemaeul lane, imagining the character of alleyways in Portugal. Hidden from the main road, it takes a little finding. The manager interviewed for this story joined after being recruited to look after the cafe's day-to-day operation. Together, the team sees the space as both a cafe and a place to introduce visitors to Sokcho and its neighborhood lanes. The cafe announced a soft-opening period of September 13–26, 2025 on Naver Place.

### Philosophy
The cafe's plans begin with the neighborhood around it, especially the older residents who share these lanes. Using ingredients from Gangwon and Sokcho is one way the team hopes to keep more of its spending local. An early idea to sell embroidery made by neighborhood grandmothers proved difficult to put into practice, so the team is exploring a visitor workshop instead. That workshop is still being planned. In its Naver introduction, the cafe says product prices include a 2% neighborhood contribution, intended to be returned to the lane's residents once funds accumulate. This is included in the listed price, not an additional charge.

### Signature
Pochi Cream Latte has been on the menu since the cafe's early days. Its cream uses potatoes sourced from Gangwon and Sokcho, bringing a local ingredient into a coffee order. Midnight Blue Cream Latte takes its cue from the brand's blue color. Both are served iced, alongside the signature house-made tomato basil ade. The current dessert menu has five roll cakes; potato and pollock-roe quiche was still in development at the interview.

### Finding the place
Find the narrow alley beside Cheogajip Yangnyeom Chicken, opposite Saemaeul Suban, and follow it to 36 Saemaeul 1-gil. The cafe has no on-site parking; Sokcho Beach No. 3 public parking lot is about five minutes away on foot. Please keep the lane clear for neighbors. Sokcho-themed magnets and other souvenirs are sold in the shop.
